Position Description
Multicultural Student Programs and Services (MSPS) provides support to Notre Dame students through student success initiatives, cultural enrichment programs, student organizations, and alumni outreach. MSPS Senior Fellows will work closely with staff to build programming designed to celebrate the diversity of Notre Dame and to develop skill sets among the student population so that they may actively create a welcoming campus environment for all. Some focus areas for the Senior Fellow role will include but are not limited to: cultural identity, intersectionality, multicultural education, outreach and engagement, cultural awareness and sensitivity.
General Expectations

Senior Fellows will be expected to work eight hours per week which will include some evenings and weekends.

Senior Fellows will receive $4,500 in stipend as compensation for paid over the course of the academic year.

Senior Fellows will be required to attend weekly team meetings.

Senior Fellows will participate in cohort training sessions, professional development opportunities.

Senior Fellows will attend training and orientation meetings at the end of 2026 Spring semester.

Senior Fellows will be expected to arrive early in Fall 2026 for training and have to be available for all Welcome Weekend events and activities.
Specific Responsibilities
Programming
-
Work collaboratively with MSPS staff to create a culture of belonging through programming and educational initiatives.

Create, organize and coordinate MSPS student programming, initiatives and signature events like the Multicultural Kick-off celebration and heritage months celebrations.

Support diversity initiatives and events organized by the MSPS office.

Promote programs, initiatives and events in residence halls, colleges and other areas on campus.

Design flyers, posters and other marketing materials.
-
Communicate decisions on logistics with AD, such as items needed, location and other details necessary.
MiND Workshop
-
Lead and facilitate MiND workshops across campus, in residence halls, with student leaders, clubs and organizations. These training sessions offer an opportunity for students to have conversations around race and develop skills to help them navigate racial microaggressions on campus.

Review and personalize MiND workshop materials to encompass student experiences.

Submit reports for MiND workshop sessions to help with assessment and evaluation of the MiND initiative.
Outreach

Represent MSPS at outreach and tabling events across campus.

Develop outreach strategies aimed at promoting MSPS at internal and external events.
Other responsibilities

Collaborate with other Senior Fellows and campus partners.

Manage our social media presence content.
Eligibility/Qualifications

Applications are open to class members of 2027 who will be living on campus during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Have knowledge relating to experiences of college students.

Facilitate difficult conversations.

Ability to prioritize, take initiatives and be accountable to their team members.

Willingness to work in a team and be committed to supporting the MSPS office.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including but not limited to listening, public speaking and writing skills.
