Notre Dame offers a new undergraduate program called Poverty Research Fellows within the Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO). LEO partners with social service providers to conduct research and identify programs that help people move permanently out of poverty. Students from all academic disciplines who are motivated to be a force for good by pursuing evidence-based solutions to poverty alleviation and are interested in research opportunities are invited to apply for this program.
Fellows have access to special events and guest speakers, faculty mentorship and networking, educational workshops, funded internships, research opportunities, immersive learning experiences, academic coursework in economics, and more - all focused on forming students into ND graduates who understand the power of evidence and research in poverty alleviation.
